A message from Nancy Muncer, Chair of the Friday Night Food Committee
Friday Night Food is now three years young. Started by Past ER Dave Biggins, it has helped our Lodge grow not just in revenue but also in new membership. It has given new meaning to TGIF. Members look forward each week to catching up with their friends, having a cocktail or two, enjoying the view and dining on a “home-cooked” meal prepared by another member and their lodge.
The profits from Friday Night Food have been used to purchase kitchen equipment and to make needed facility upgrades. In the last two years we have installed natural gas lines to our outside grills and steamer pots which reduces our expenditure for propane. We have purchased an electric steam table, a double convection oven, a flat griddle and a funnel cake machine. These items are put to good use when we hold our charitable functions. We’ve also added to our pots and pans, silverware and kitchen utensils. Much of this would not have happened without the proceeds from Friday Night Food.
I want to thank all the volunteer chefs as well as the members who support Friday Night Food. To help us move forward we need more volunteer chefs. For information, call me at 609-289-1010.
If you have an idea for a Friday Night Food “event” we would like to hear it. If you are coming on a Friday with a party of ten or more, please let us know a couple days in advance.
Friday Night Food is open to members and their guests only. Please remember to sign all guests in when entering the Lodge.
Volunteer to assist the cooks or become a cook yourself. Just stop by the lodge kitchen on any Friday night or call Nancy Muncer 609-289-1010.
